Czech is a country rich in cinema. From the Czechoslovak New Wave style of film that challenged communist censorship or the animated character named Krtek, recognized and adored by the world over, film is an important part of Czech history. Below are some of our favorite films that are connected to the Czech Republic and make for great opportunities to become acquainted with the culture and language before your visit.

Princ a Večernice (The Prince and the Evening Star) - This is a classical in our household and is typical of the style of fairy-tale created throughout the 70’s. It is even good for a few laughs afterwords. Also be sure to pay close attention because you may recognize some of the sites on your vacation!
